It’s a cool way to mix colors and get your whole body involved!

Kids were swarming to this activity so fast because it was so much fun and used two things they love:

HAMMERS + BUBBLE WRAP!

(It’s actually a mallet… but a toy hammer would work too! Use what you have!)

This toddler art activity with hammers is easy to set up and gets kid’s finger muscles working hard to build their fine motor skills too!

Have you ever tried painting with bubble wrap before? Or Hammers? If not, try it! I guarantee that it will be a hit!

Materials Needed:

-Mallet (or toy hammer)
-Washable paint
-Bubble wrap
-Tape
-Paper

Hammer Art Activity Instructions:

1. Tape paper to a table (or cover an entire table with large white paper).
2. Squeeze some washable paint onto the paper.
3. Cover the paper with a piece of bubble wrap and secure the edges with tape.
4. Start hammering or squishing & popping the bubble wrap covered paper!

5. Once kids are done, pull off the bubble wrap to see the beautiful painted creation!

6. Let it dry and repeat!

Ways to Extend the Activity:

Use the paint covered bubble wrap to make prints on large paper. You can use this process for making wrapping paper!

How to Reuse the Bubblewrap

Want to use the bubble wrap more than once? Just wash your bubble wrap in the sink, let it dry, and then put it away to reuse it another time for another project.

Clean Up Tip:

Keep wipes or a wet towel nearby for easy clean up. This is a great outside activity!
